The Film Production Facility project challenges conventional wisdom with respect to design of contemporary work spaces. The traditional eight hour workday has been extended to a 24 hour day. The workplace now functions more like a residence with the need for entertainment, outdoor and interior living spaces. The challenge is to program this mid-block site to meet the rigorous requirements for this use. Designed to recall the Douglas Fir forests that once were ubiquitous in the lower mainland, this project with three indoor theatres, rooftop outdoor recreation space and interior spaces designed for rapid re-configuration, is located in the heart of the City. Make completed a full costing and construction review in a highly compressed schedule; allowing the design team to present their proposal with a high degree of certainty and confidence.
